Stayin’ alive

A kidney dialysis/transplant diary

Go, Mayo! Go, Mayo! Go, Mayo!

I’m doing a happy dance here at my desk.  I just got word from Mayo that the committee voted to place me on the kidney transplant list as a temporary inactive.

WOO HOO!

I’ll start accruing time while I lose the 50 pounds I need to shed before transplant. That’s a very, very good thing.

I just popped a top to celebrate! Naw, not a Miller Genuine Draft, it’s a diet Sierra Mist Free (12 oz.). All things in moderation, right? <grin>

I just decided — as I was headed to the pop machine thinking “how do you celebrate if you can’t eat or drink?” — the rest of the celebration will be to plunk an extra $20 in the first Salvation Army kettle I see.  It may not be a Krugerand, but it’ll have to do.
